Aviary is a hosted platform being used by the JMU Libraries to provide streaming access to audiovisual (AV) materials from collections held in Special Collections, the JMU Music Library, and other select materials curated by JMU Libraries. These materials may be digitized or born-digital. Rights limitations may mean that some materials are only accessible through JMU authentication.
JMU users with a valid eID may submit appropriate audiovisual materials to Aviary, including, but not limited to published AV scholarship and creative works and performances produced by JMU faculty, students, and staff. To submit your work, please complete the Aviary Contributor Form (files over 100GB will require a consultation with the repository adminitrators). See our Aviary at JMU guide for more information on navigating and contributing works to this site.
Please refer to the User-Contributed Content in JMU Libraries Systems policies when using this service. Information regarding the Libraries’ digital preservation practices can be found in the digital preservation policy.
If you have questions about the JMU Aviary repository, please contact the repository administrators.
